Located 7 minutes west of the I-95 Kanner or Hobe Sound exits, even before coming to our stable you may enjoy the ride. The route down Kanner Highway lets you experience old Florida. As you leave the urban areas behind, see the cows, horses and old Florida grassland on your approach to Cantering Oaks.
As you turn onto SW Groveside Drive and approach the training center, you will see the large (120’x230’) covered arena. Built for training, COS designed the arena with what it believes is the best footing and spacing available for those dedicated to caring for their mounts and love of riding.
Entering Cantering Oaks note the beautiful live oaks that embrace its entrance. A symbol of Florida, the live oaks lifespan greatly exceeds ours! As you come up the drive observe the wide open paddocks fenced by electric roping. A stable dedicated to the health of our horses, the paddocks are huge allowing our equine friends the room to run and graze and relax as a herd. Herd animals, this type of fencing is designed to allow horses not only to see each other in fields but also identify predators. This vision awareness has been shown to allow equines greater relaxation during turnout.
You will notice a lake on the south of the property. Again, we allow our equine friends to romp and play in the lake but please note, riders are allowed to the lake only with the consent of our resident trainer Michelle McNally.
We pride ourselves in being as green as we can be while providing a safe environment for our riders, staff and horses. To accomplish this, we use minimal chemicals and no pesticides on the property. We employ our world friends such as bats, owls and cats for mosquito and mouse control.
Michelle McNally is the resident trainer and owner of McNally Show Horses. A certified judge and competitive rider herself, the training program welcomes ages 4-unlimited. Although the primary training is dedicated to hunter/ jumper, Grand Prix, dressage or flat work is also accommodated on an individual basis. All riders must engage in a training package. Please contact Michelle for individual details. Full board is available on a limited basis.
